In treacherous conditions, Simon de Senlis quickly went 0-2 down thanks to a long-range effort that skimmed off the turf and into the net, and a poached goal from close range after a goal-mouth scramble.

However, Simon de Senlis were able to recover from their slow start, and the impact of substitutes Connor Holder and Benito Teriaca contributed to Les Fleurs finishing the half 3-2 ahead. A brace from Connor Brunton (who also hit the post) along with a strike from Connor Holder doing the damage.

The second period saw Simon de Senlis tighten their grip further with further goals from Tom Marshall (2) and a hat-trick strike from Connor Brunton. Les Fleurs even had the luxury of Taran Dhaliwal hitting the post and Tom Marshall hitting the bar FROM TEN CENTIMETRES OUT(!), ensuring that a late third goal from Castle Primary was purely a consolation.

A special mention must also go to captain Alfie Smith who played with his usual determination, Malachy Johnston who played with fantastic discipline at the back after coming on, Ryan Wood who passed the ball beautifully in midfield, brave Lewis Biddolph who was fearless in the tackle and Waqar Butt who had his usual safe hands in goal.

A huge thank you goes out to Castle Primary who were fantastic opposition and contributed to fair and good spirited game. Thanks also goes to all the support from parents and our usual No.1 fan, Miss Tonkin.

Simon de Senlis will now progress to the town stage of the county-wide competition, qualifying from their cluster with a 100% record.
