Number Patterns

This week in maths we have improved our understanding of counting and number patterns. We practised counting in 100’s by grouping art straws in 10’s, and then using these bundles to create bundles of 100. Then we brought all our bundles together to make a class number line on the carpet. We labelled our number line and worked out 100 more and 100 less than a given number. Additionally, we placed Dienes equipment by our bundles to see how the numbers grew bigger and bigger and started to make comparisons.
