Year 4 – Music composition

Today, year 4 have spent time today with a visiting composer – John Bowman – who helped us to compose and create a piece of music that will be used at the Derngate performance of Romeo and Juliet in March. Year 5 children are going to create a dance to go with our music and we hope everyone enjoys listening to it! Lennon-McCartney class focused on the sad / angry section of the scene and created music and sound effects as well as lyrics and melodies to suit the part of the story we were looking at. Mozart class then looked at the ending of the music where there is a more positive feeling of hope. The children loved creating lyrics and sounds for the music and they should be very proud of their final recording of the composition.
