Churchill & Mandela – Switches
Electricity is all around us! Each day we all press switches to make electrical items work: light switches, TV switches, computer switches, switches to turn phones on and off…. the list is endless. But we don’t often think about how they work.
Year 6 have had great fun, learning how switches work and experimenting with different resources to make our own switches.
Children got to select their own resources and make their own switches; some used a push motion, others sliding motion. Some switches worked straight away and others needed adjustments to ensure that electricity could pass through a circuit to make a motor work.
