Japan Tree by Kensuke

Year 6 have been reading Michael Morpurgo’s book, ‘Kensuke’s Kingdom’. As part of our work around this text we have written diary entries in the role of Michael (one of the main character) written storm descriptions and newspaper reports.

In the story, Kensuke (the other main character) paints Cherry Blossom trees as they remind him of his homeland, Japan. He calls the trees Japan Trees. We looked at Blossom Tree paintings produced by a number of artists then created our own using water colours.
