Remembrance Assembly

Year 6 have been working hard on their poetry, poppy artwork and performance skills this week ahead of leading the whole school commemoration on Monday.  We have been most impressed by their poetry writing skills after studying a range of poems including ‘In Flanders Fields’ and ‘For the Fallen’. This work will be on display in school after the assembly.

Like millions of people across the country, we will be thinking about the sacrifice young soldiers- and their families- made in WW1 and other conflicts since.  This Monday is the one hundredth anniversary of the very first two minute silence and our assembly is built around the theme of passing on the torch of commemoration from generation to generation.

We will remember them.
