Year 1 Matilda

This week, we have started learning about the William Shakespeare play ‘The Merchant of Venice’. First, we found out where Venice is and looked at a picture. The children wrote on post it notes what they could see in the picture. Then, we looked at some clues to find out what the story might be about. Finally, we were introduced to the main characters in the story. We had to write predictions about what kind of person they might be. The children used Kinetic Letters to present their work neatly, capital letters for names, the conjunction ‘because’ to explain their ideas and full stops to show the end of their sentence. Every child moved their name onto the pot of gold for working hard. Well done Matilda Class!!
