Year 5 Dyson – Setting Descriptions

Today we have been writing setting descriptions as part of our English task. Here is Isabella’s setting description. Would you want to visit her dental surgery?

THE STONE-BROOK DENTAL SURGERY

Inside the dental surgery you could hear ear piecing screams and the sound of deafening drills.

The smell of disinfectant took your breath away. In the centre of the room was a tattered and musty dental chair with rips in the leather fabric. Above your head was timber beams which only let in a needle of light. On the dentist work surface there was tools which were blackened with aged. When the dental chair moved up and down it was very turbulent. Sitting on a chair in front of a ancient computer was a vague silhouette. The room temperature gave you Goosebumps and a chill shivered down your spine. If you were to stand outside, then stone-brook dental surgery would look like the leaning tower of Pisa.
