Year 1: Paddington: Have a lovely Easter!

Good morning Paddington, I have been thrilled to receive so many emails with pictures of your work from this week! It has kept a big smile on my face seeing you complete the learning and more at home and I will miss them over the Easter break.

Many of you have sent me a picture of your non-fiction report writing and I have been very impressed. Jovan wrote a brilliant report on an alien that lives inside a rubbish bin. Frankie planned and wrote a fantastic report all about Spring, Oscar wrote a report about a megaladon, Gracie’s report involved a monster that lived in an interesting cave and Sophia’s was about a glitter star unicorn. Great work everyone!!!

Lots of children have sent me pictures of them baking, Lyla and Sophia have been making tasty treats at home.

I am very impressed hearing about all the reading you have been completing. Many children have sent me pictures of their reading comprehension sheets. Oscar and Frankie have been reading Horrid Henry books at home which sound great fun. I have loved hearing your reviews on the books. Gabi made a book review and gave her book 5 stars.

Gabi sent in an amazing picture of a robot she had made out of lego. It was half the size of her!!!!! Jovan and his brother have been completing the construction club challenges and worked together to build a rocket for NASA, great job!

I have loved reading your Maths, English and Reading but have also enjoyed seeing your creative work. David drew and described his dream house and it sounded wonderful. Sofia has been creating postcards to send to her family and her drawings were brilliant. Kiana has also been drawing the different seasons, thinking about how they change. Lucy has been working with her family on their allotment which sounds a lot of fun.

From what I have seen this week I think everyone would be star of the week if we were back at school. Sophia’s family have been carrying on with star of the week and Sophia got star shape finder. Brilliant!

The top 3 on Numbots this week are Frankie, Gabi and Oscar. Can you try and beat them?

I hope everyone has a lovely Easter holidays and I will be in touch on Monday 20th April.

Take care.

Miss Leatherland 🙂
