Calling all KS2 Choir members!

Hello KS2 Choir! How are you all?

It’s been a very long time since our last Choir practise but I’m sure you’re all singing at home!

I wanted to share with you an exciting opportunity this summer. You may or may not have heard of the Northampton Music and Performing Arts Trust, but they are a fantastic organisation that provides music tuition and opportunities to play music with others from Northampton. When I was your age, I was part of NMPAT and loved every second!

The are holding auditions this summer to be a part of their music groups and I wanted to share the audition process for their County Choirs.

I have copied the link below to the website. They are holding all of their auditions online this year but its an opportunity that you cannot miss. If you are successful in your audition, you will be a part of one of their County Choirs, who meet every week in term time and do a range of performances throughout the year. We have joined them on the stage at the Derngate before. There is a cost to join, but more information about this can be found on the website.

You need to sign up using this link below (free to audition!) and you will be sent a link to record and upload a video of you singing. There are a range of songs that are suggested. Most of them, we have sung before!

https://presto.nmpat.co.uk/auditions/auditionappl.asp?sid=&uid=&iid=&pid=&mode=new&new=yes

Here are some of the suggested songs. You can choose one of these, or a song of your own choice.

My favourite things – The Sound of Music
My bonnie lies over the ocean – Traditional

A whole New World – Aladdin
Doh-Re-Mi – The Sound of Music

The Bare Necessities – The Jungle Book
Castle on a cloud – Les Miserables

More information can be found on the website, or feel free to send me an email. https://www.nmpat.co.uk/ensembles-and-music-groups/auditions/

If you send an audition tape, please let me know! Remember, sometimes we have to try new things. Even if we don’t get in, you will have had a wonderful opportunity and there’s always next year!

Good luck,

Miss Gedney
