Paddington: The Enormous Carrot
A mysterious object appeared in Paddington Class this morning whilst the children were at play. A green blanket had been placed over a seed, shovel and pot filled with soil. A note had been left with the seed telling the children that the seed would become a vegetable so we predicted what this could be.
We left the seed to grow in the sunlight and to our surprise it turned into a carrot!! The children were amazed at the change in the seed and we discussed what we knew already about carrots and what they looked like.
Then the children all tried some carrot soup and wrote sentences to describe how it tasted. The majority of the class loved the soup and most of the children polished off the entire bowl.
The children will now be changing their stories from the enormous turnip into the enormous carrot.
