Good Afternoon Year 2!

Hello Year 2, it feels like it’s been a really long time since I last wrote a blog post so it’s really nice to be saying hello to you again!

How has your week been? I’ve been enjoying seeing your Traction Man text maps this week. I’ve just been planning next weeks work continuing on the theme of Traction Man and I can’t wait to see your writing at the end of the week. You are going to need to find some household objects to inspire your writing!

There’s also some more opportunities to practise your times tables in maths. Are you still logging on to TTRS and Numbers? This is really important as in Year 3 you will be doing lots of times table rockstar battles and challenges so why not get a head start!

I’ve loved seeing your pictures of your virtual sports day activities. Some children have been completing these in school and lots of you at home. Thank you to Bethany and Anay for sending me their pictures. The scores are tight at the moment so don’t forget to send your pictures and score cards to make sure you get the most amount of points for your house!

I enjoyed the Virtual Sports activities with my Reception Bubble on Tuesday. We had SO much fun so I know you will too!

This was shared earlier in the week and I really like this idea. It’s a kindness calendar and has some lovely ideas for how to spread kindness for both yourself and others. Today is the 3rd, so can you make a list of all the ways to be kind?

I am counting down the days until our socially distanced picnic on Wednesday 8th July. I am SO excited to see you and can’t wait for us to be together again!

Enjoy the rest of the day and fingers crossed for some sunshine soon.

Miss Gedney 🙂
