Welcome to Reception 2020

Hello everyone,

It’s an exciting day for me, the Reception staff and the parents of the Reception children who will be joining us in September as we are holding a virtual welcome meeting with them this evening. Here we will share the SDS ethos and principles, the Reception curriculum and top tips on getting children ready for their first day at school.

At this very unusual time, it must be especially challenging for the new parents but we will make sure they are prepared and ready for their children to begin school. As always, our priority is the children’s emotional needs in the first few weeks of starting school and we will make sure they are happy and settled and ready to begin their learning journey.

I am very much looking forward to seeing our parents later this evening and to welcoming them in September to their wonderful new school.
