Year 2: Ennis Welcome Back

Good afternoon Ennis class! We have just finished our first 2 days of learning and I am so proud of how well you have all returned to school. Everyone has been ready to learn, followed the new routines and expectations and had a big smile on their face.

 

We have been getting to know each other this week and thinking about what we can remember from last year. In Maths, we have been refreshing our number bonds to 10 and 20. We began to think about how these facts can be represented in different ways. In English, we wrote a character description about a bear and then wrote the story of ‘Were going on a bear hunt’. The children loved this activity and I was amazed at how beautifully written the stories were.

 

This afternoon we have been looking at lighthouses. Our new talk for writing topic is based around a lighthouse therefore in art we have created our own paintings on this. They look great and I cannot wait to display them on the wall.

 

Well done for a great first week back and I cannot wait to see you on Monday..
