Year 5 – Einstein

Welcome Back Year 5!

What a fantastic start we have had to the year, the children have settled into their new routines really well and have been eager to get going with their learning. Well done everyone!
We have started learning a new text in English called ‘The Gas Mask’ and we had some  interesting items to look at on Monday which set the scene for the portal story.
In maths we have been exploring the place value of five digit numbers, using place value counters and part whole models to show our thinking.
We also started our new Science topic, Earth and Space, and we began to explore the theories around the shape of the Earth, we are looking forward to finding out more about this topic over the coming weeks.
The children had a great first swimming session too and we were really impressed with everyone’s behaviour and positive attitudes at the pool!
