Writing in the style of William Blake

Over the past two weeks, Mandela Class have been focussing on description, learning how to generate high level vocabulary, write a poem and turning poetry into prose. We have written a variety of fantastic descriptive poems and narratives, including about a wolf. This week, we explored the work of poet William Blake, specifically his poem ‘The Tyger’. After creating a toolkit of writerly features that he uses, we re-wrote our poem about the wolf in the style of William Blake, applying rhyme, alliteration, metaphors and emotive language. I am so impressed with how brilliant all of your poems were, please enjoy some of them below:

Well done Mandela Class!
