Robots in Year 1

We have been investigating a box of ‘robot parts’ that were found in the classroom today.  We have been looking at the switches, motors, control panel,  wires,  bolts,  screws  and  thought about where  they  have  come  from.  The children came up with lots of questions they would like to ask the robot who owns these parts.  The questions included:

What do your switches do?

Why are your parts in a box?

How do you move?

What are the wires for?

Are you blind now your eyes are here?  Can I help you?

Do you have lasers that shine?

We also started to learn the story Nobot The Bobot today and are looking forward to writing our own stories about robots too! Well done year 1!
