Robinson Class

Good morning everyone,

It has been an unusual week this week and we are looking forward to all being back together next week.

I have been amazed with how hard the children have been working on writing their final warning stories. Each child has written a fantastic warning tale, moved away from the model text ‘the three little pigs’ and included character description within their stories. I am a very proud teacher!!

In forest school, we found lots of signs of Spring. The children could hear the birds singing, see the flowers blooming and we were shocked with how many leaves have grown on the trees in just a week. The children tied sticks together and decorated them with wool to hang on the trees.

In Maths, we have been continuing our learning on multiplication. The children are confident in drawing arrays, number lines or jottings to support solving calculations for 2s, 5s and 10s. On Thursday we began to solve missing number calculations.

In DT, we have planned and are now making our dream homes out of shoe boxes. We have decorate the outside of the boxes and attached the middle floor.

In PHSE we have been learning about how to keep our bodies healthy. Over the past two weeks, we have been learning about healthy foods and how a balanced diet impacts on our body. This week we thought about healthy snacks we could make when we are hungry. The children prepared lots of different fruits and made juicy fruit kebabs, it was a lot of fun.

Last week, a child in our class brought in a tie from his old school. He taught the class how to tie a tie and the children had a go themselves. They all looked very smart.
