Superstars in Dahl Class!

It has been another great, busy week in Dahl class this week!

Since returning after Christmas, we have really enjoyed learning about the story of Romeo and Juliet in our English lessons. Throughout this week, we have been working really hard to publish our writing ahead of the Romeo and Juliet showcase next Friday. When writing in role as either Romeo or Juliet, it was lovely to hear all of the fantastic ideas from the children and see these written within their work. Within our Art lessons, we have developed our watercolour skills to help us add some beautiful pieces of artwork alongside our writing. We have been practising mixing different shades of one colour and using these for effect. I know that all of the children are really excited to be able to showcase their work next week and I hope that you will enjoy being able to see their work next Friday!

In Maths, we have continued to develop our knowledge of the 3, 4 and 8 times tables alongside the relation division facts. We have explored the different ways and representations we can use to help us find the answer. Within the week, we took part in a times table battle on Times Table Rockstars and it was great to see the fluency and speed at which the children were able to answer their times table facts increase! Remember that little and often works best when learning new times table facts!

On Thursday afternoon, the children were able to meet their new class teacher, Mrs Aston. We spent some time during the morning creating an ‘All About Me’ poster which the children were later able to share. I know that Mrs Aston is really looking forward to working with everyone!

I am so excited to hear about all of the wonderful work that I know Dahl class will continue to produce throughout the rest of the year. Keep being brilliant, Dahl class. Well done for all of your hard work since September, you are all superstars!
