Rowling class had an amazing day yesterday making sandwich snacks.
First they tasted some bread, then chose their bread and filling for their sandwich design. I was so proud of the children for pushing themselves out of their comfort zone and choosing something they wouldn’t normally choose and going for a completely new filling in order to try something new
There were a range of fillings and the children chose a main protein and some salad too. Some even had two fillings!
After lunch, we got stuck in and made our sandwiches. The children made their sandwich independently, cutting using safe knife skills (under mine and Mrs Walker’s watchful eyes!) and we were so pleased that everyone worked safely and independently.
Finally, at the end of the day we got to eat our sandwiches. They were delicious! Some even took some home to share.
Well done Rowling class! You’ll be making your own lunches next year!
