Year 5 – Queen Elizabeth II

It was with great sadness that we received the news that Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, had passed away yesterday evening. Today, we discussed her amazing achievements throughout her life and marvelled at her dedication to her role as Head of state.

Mrs. Fennelly and Mrs. Rosevear paid our year group a visit to discuss the news and also to remind us of our incredible Platinum Jubilee celebrations back in June. Most exciting of all, Mrs. Fennely shared with us a response from Queen Elizabeth to our letters that we sent her! The children were given photocopies of the letter and card that was sent to the school. What an incredible memento to treasure and keep.
