Sensory Learning

This week we have had a big focus on sensory activities which has meant that the classroom, and the children have at times got a bit messy!

We all enjoyed exploring very cold things, including ice cubes, yogurt, frozen peas and hand lotion. The children used a communication board to select appropriate vocabulary to describe the feelings on their hands as they touched all the items.

We have had a lovely tea party, describing different foods and inviting our friends to come along and we created some amazing recipes using porridge oats, vinegar and food colouring to name just a few ingredients! The textures and smells in Wiggins Class have been extremely varied thus week! I wonder if you might like to create a new recipe by using different ingredients from your cupboards and fridge this weekend.
