Matilda Class- Hot Seating

Here we are again at the end of another great week in Matilda class. We have been extremely busy! In English we have been learning the features of a descriptive journey story and placing ourselves into the shoes of the main characters from our model text- We’re going on a bear hunt. As a part of this we have been interviewing or hot-seating the children as if they themselves had tried to go on a bear hunt. It goes without saying that their imagination is fantastic!

In maths we have been focusing on how to create number fact families from one calculation. In art the children have been learning the skills they will need to create their own seascape paintings over the next couple of weeks. In RE we have been sequencing the events of the Christmas story. This has tied in very well to the nativity performance year 1 have been practicing. Myself and Mrs Egan have been blown away with how well the children have learnt their words and songs! I am very much looking forward to the performance in a couple of weeks, I am sure all of them are going to knock your socks off! Keep up the great work.
I hope you all have a fantastic weekend.
