Scientists in Paddington Class

The children in Paddington Class have been making observations about different materials.  We looked at objects made of wool, metal, plastic and glass and decided what properties the materials have.  The children then recorded their observations on charts, here are some the observations made:

  • The glass that makes a drinking glass is smooth
  • The wool of a hat is soft.
  • The rubber of an elastic band is bendy and stretchy.
  • The metal of a spoon is smooth and shiny.

I look forward to our other science lessons when we will be learning more about properties of materials and experimenting to see which ones are waterproof and which are absorbent.  You worked carefully making observations well done Paddington Class!
