Can light bend?

Mandela completed an investigation in science this afternoon, trying to prove whether light travels in a straight line or not. The children explored using torches and card, working in groups to try and come up with an experiment which provided evidence to either prove or disprove the statement. Working scientifically, the children carefully considered the best use of the resources, enabling them to successfully identify a strategy which proved the statement correct  – light does travel in straight lines!
