Murray – Wind Up Mechanisms

Murray class had a fantastic afternoon exploring how toys move for our DT unit. First, we used a range of construction kits to see if we could make parts of them move in different ways.

Then, we used a straw, cotton reel, masking tape and string to put together a mechanism to wind up a piece of string. We will be using this mechanism in our final project for our DT unit of work where we represent a nursery rhyme in a box! We will be making our character move by winding them up and down.
