Year 1: Paddington: Time

This term Year 1 are learning how to tell the time. To begin this topic the children have begun to learn new vocabulary such as second, minute, hour, day, week, month and year. The children spent some time exploring how long a minute is by completing a variety of tasks in a minute.

The children worked in teams to see how many different things they could do in a minute. Here are some examples:

How many star jumps in a minute. How many spins in a minute. How many times you write your number bonds in a minute. How many press ups in a minute etc……. The children became very creative with challenging themselves with what they can do in a minute, recording their results in their books.
