Year 4 – National Art Gallery trip

On Wednesday, Year 4 went on their trip to the National Gallery in London to view the painting ‘Men of the Docks’ which they have been learning about in their Art lessons.

During the day, we went on a tour of the gallery to see some amazing artwork. Mrs Fennelly told us all about lots of famous artists and we analysed their paintings. We also got to see the real painting of ‘Men of the Docks’ and the gallery staff taught us more about it. We also completed a postcard to show where we might go on a journey and we had to take inspiration from the paintings that we had seen. We also did some sketching in Trafalgar Square of Nelson’s column, the lions and the amazing frontage of the National Gallery.

We had a really enjoyable day! Please click on the link below to see a Sway of photos from the day.
