Year 2 Ennis – Pumpkin Soup

We have loved reading the story Pumpkin Soup, it has beautiful pictures and a wonderful story. We have been focusing on the first few pages over the last few weeks and using drama and images to write descriptive sentences.

Today, we wrote a class description of the picture below.

We have spent time learning and developing our noun phrases and prepositional language to make our sentences more descriptive. We had to make sure our sentences followed on from each other.

Here is our writing – although sentences were shared by individual children, it was a whole class piece of work as we all helped each other come up with the sentences. I am really looking forward to our writing tomorrow!
