Year 4 Mozart – Roman Numerals

This week in maths we have been learning about Roman numerals and how to read and write them. There are lots of rules for writing Roman numerals which we have been great at remembering. We started the week by focusing on Roman numerals up to 10 before moving on to learning the numerals all the way to 100! Today we had lots fun solving our tri-jigsaws by matching up the right Roman numeral to the right number. Have a look at the pictures below to see what we’ve been getting up to!

Sam really enjoyed this game on Sunday and completed it.
Today, Monday, Sam tried twice but on each occasion the game froze when level III had been completed.

I tried the game and I got on very well with it. It was fun. I learned that D means 500 in Roman Numerals.
I also now understand that you cannot have more than 3 of the same symbol in a row, I didn’t understand this before.
