Year 1- Last day! Happy Christmas! Thank You!

WOW we have had lots of fun today!

The day began with a really exciting whole school assembly in the hall. The children sang Christmas songs and we discovered a cheeky elf had been causing mischief across the school!! We had to keep an eye on him in the assembly as he kept running off trying to cause more trouble!!!

After that we had a very special visitor……. he had a long white beard, a black belt and a sack full of presents! Who was it?

Father Christmas gave Year 1 some fantastic gifts which the children opened very excitedly. We were lucky to receive a book for forest school, a bug collecting kit and some finger puppets! I know we can’t wait to play with them!

In the afternoon we had our Christmas party!!!! Thank you to all of the families who brought in food to make this possible, the children thoroughly enjoyed eating altogether in the classroom and digging into the delicious treats. Once our food had settled in our tummies the music came on and we all had a boogie (including the grown ups). Some of the children taught me how to floss! We played musical statues and danced and danced until it was time to get our home time things together.

A huge thank you for the cards, gifts and food for the party! It is very much appreciated.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We hope you all have a lovely time with your families and we will see you back on Thursday 3rd January!

Love

Miss Leatherland and Mrs Chamberlain 🙂
