Year 1: Matilda Forest School

Matilda class have thoroughly enjoyed their first forest school session in the glorious sunshine! The children began by recapping the forest school song and rules before looking at signs the forest school area is changing. We noticed the leaves have begun to fall from the trees and that many of the hedges were becoming bare. We discussed how the seasons are beginning to change and what we might expect to see in the forest area in our next visit.

After playing some forest school games such as 1,2,3 where are you, the children had time to explore the forest. Many of the children climbed the trees and showed perseverance to gain confidence. Some children worked as a team to create a fantastic water run and others searched for bugs.

It was a great afternoon and I look forward to our next session!
