Matilda Maths
This week in Maths we have been continuing our work on addition. The children have been answering questions like 5 + 6 = 11. They have then been looking at the commutative law (addition can be done in any order). Finally, they have looked at = meaning equal to. See below for some examples of how the children have been setting out their work.
5 + 6 = 11 6 + 5 = 11
11 = 5 + 6 11 = 6 + 5
5 + 6 = 6 + 5
See if you can have a go at home showing all of the different ways to answer the following calculations.
6 + 8 =
7 + 5 =
9 + 3 =
Next week, we will be exploring number bonds to 20, adding a one digit number to a 2 digit number and using number lines.
Miss Twigg and I are so impressed with your hard work in Maths. We have awarded you one dojo point each. Well done Matilda Class 🙂
