Marvellous Maths!

This week the children have been working extremely hard in all their lessons but especially within maths. They have been recapping about 2d and 3d shapes, place value and addition. Today the children in Green and Yellow group were challenged to name 2d shape and their properties and then sort them using a given and then their own criteria – not easy! We had a carpet of shapes to use and noticed they could be sorted by colour, shape, whether they had straight or curved sides and by many other reasons.

They were also tasked with ordering numbers within 100 which were presented in a random order. However, even when I gave the children the numbers written as words I couldn’t trick them!
