Problem solving

This afternoon the children were challenged to some problem solving and team work activities.
Working together, a group had to build a staircase to rescue Skip from a tall branch of our classroom tree. It was tougher than you think, particularly as they had a limited number of blocks to use and keeping them steady was difficult. Other activities focused around building a slide for small world toys from a range of equipment they had, using bricks to build a bridge for animals to cross a river and moving a scrunched up ball of paper across a table without touching it.
I was impressed at how well the children persevered and how fabulous their growth mind set was. They never gave up, tried lots of different things and communicated with each well to share and try out their ideas.
Keep up the great work!
