Year 2 Ennis – Ready for Week 2

It's a new day and a new week. Start your morning off with a big ...

Good morning Ennis Class! Did you have a nice weekend? What did you get up to? I finished a book yesterday and watched some films on TV. Sunday was a very lazy day for me!

I’m looking forward to a new week. We’re one week closer to being back to normal! I am really proud of everyone for finishing one week of learning from home and hope you’re all settled now into a routine, I think I’m just about there!

What are you looking forward to this week? It could be something small. I’m looking forward to catching up with my family on Skype today for another fitness session and I’m also looking forward to seeing all of your fantastic work. Let me know what you’re looking forward to this week. Think of something to make us smile 🙂

This week, the focus of our English is Non Fiction. Before we finished school, we were meant to be starting a non-fiction topic about Pirates, based on our story of Pirate Tom unit. This unit is based on The Rainbow Pirates. Over the week, you will try to learn a text, story map it and then get the chance to change it, with a new focus of a dragon! There might be a surprise video to share with you later on in the week…watch this space!

Maths today is focusing on finding half of an amount. You were really good at this at school not long ago so show me what you can remember.

I am in the process of uploading my next video of our class reader. This is a good chapter! I hope you enjoy it. Here’s Beau enjoying hearing me read last week. I’d love to see more pictures of you learning.

Here is something fun for you! Did you know you can see a live animal in your living room? Look what appeared in my living room this morning while I was eating my breakfast!

You can find these animals by typing them into google and clicking ‘View in 3d’. Unfortunately my favourite animals aren’t there yet but hopefully they’ll add some more soon. So far I’ve seen a Panda, a lion and a horse. I’ve heard you can also get a shark! Let me know if you have a special visitor.

Have a great week Ennis Class. Don’t forget to email me with anything you need, or just to share some wonderful work.

Miss Gedney
