Art and Craft – Gratitude Jars

Good afternoon! I thought I would post a blog of an activity you could enjoy on a rainy day like today when it can be trickier to find things to do at home.

  1. Decorate an empty jar using permanent pens, acrylic paints or stickers.  You could use words  such as ‘Thank you’ or ‘Thankful’ and make this your gratitude jars.
  2. Then write notes on to slips of paper to show what we are thankful for. This could include ‘Thank you for my food that keeps me strong’  or ‘Thank you for laughter’.
  3. Finally fold the slips of paper and place them in your jar.

We made our jars yesterday and were surprised at how many things we could think of to be grateful for, we spent a long time adding to our jars and we will continue to add to them as we think of different things each day.  They are now on a shelf and we are looking forward to looking through our notes together.

Have fun, stay safe,

Mrs Egan
