Year 4 Mozart – Art Skills!

This term, our Art lessons are all about developing our drawing techniques and sketching skills. Over the past few weeks, we have learnt about a range of sketching techniques, including stippling, hatching and cross hatching. We have explored how we can change the tone of our drawings by changing the way we hold our pencil, how much pressure we apply when using our pencil and by adapting our technique (for example with hatching, changing the number of lines we draw and the distance between them). We also had lots of fun creating a piece of art work based on the stippling technique, exploring how we can use different materials to do this and the different effects they had. We have also been considering the importance of perspective when drawing, thinking carefully about the size of our drawings.
