Year 4 Lennon-McCartney – Sketching

For our last two Art lessons, we have been exploring the different techniques we can use when shading. Last week, we looked at stippling which is an effect created by different shapes and sizes of dots. We used a range of different tools and paint to create a leaf inspired piece of artwork showing our different stippling techniques. This week, we explored tone and shading as well as accurately representing shapes and sizes from a picture. We had a go at sketching a range of different flowers and added tone through our shading. Here are some of the pieces of stippling and flower artwork that we created. We are looking forward to learning about an artist who specialises in painting flowers next week.
