Calling Year 5 astronomers!

Hello Year 5! I just wanted to share something that I enjoyed watching online from the National Space Centre,  that I thought you might enjoy during half term and that links perfectly to your learning in our topic on Space from this term.

Would you like to make moon rocks? Could you investigate the impact of meteorites using some simple ingredients you can find at home? Would you enjoy making and eating lunar truffles? Well, as well as all that, you could also learn about the phases of the moon, things to spot when looking at the moon and about the Artemis program, NASA’s plan to land the first woman and next man on the Moon by 2024.

The link below will take you to the programme on the National Space Centre’s YouTube channel:

If you carry out the experiment or make any of the treats, take some photos if you can. You could upload them onto your class notebook so they can be shared with your class. The programme lasts an hour. I hope you enjoy it and find it interesting.
