It was so lovely to see Year 6 back after our half term break and we are, as always, so proud of the way that they immediately settled back into work.
New topics this term include World War II, computing and Evolution and Inheritance which we are all looking forward to. After break on Tuesday, we came back into class to find police warning tape, danger signs and sirens sounding… our new Talk for Writing Unit is writing warning stories and we will continue to share the children’s work as we progress through the lessons over the coming weeks.
Our next task is to research and produce the Remembrance Commemoration for school- a little different this year as it needs to be digital. Over half term, one of the homework tasks was to collect information on Remembrance Day and we continued this yesterday ahead of producing an assembly to be shared across school next Wednesday 11th November.
A final note- Lily in Churchill spent her half term producing these owls that she brought in for the staff. What a talented seamstress.
