Reception Remembers

Today the Reception children spent time in class reflecting upon what Remembrance Day is. The Year 6 children have been very busy making two different age appropriate ppt assemblies to share with the classes across the school.

In Reception we learnt about what Remembrance Day is, when it is held, why it is held, the significance of the poppy and how the poppy helps to raise funds for charities. We also listened to some of the Y6 children speaking on the videos.

After, at 11am, the children showed their respect by sitting quietly and reflecting, whilst they watched the CBeebies Poppy Fields animation which lasts for the 2 minute duration that the older children completed as their two minute silence.

Well done Reception. Fantastic listening, some great questions asked and very respectful during our reflection time. We are very proud of you!
