Year 3 Dahl – Writing a character change tale

In English this term, we have been exploring how to write a character change tale. We began by making 3 wishes based on some shiny jewels and gems. This helped us to understand how greedy Grolt might have felt about having lots of jewels and gems all to himself. The children have worked really hard over the past three days, writing their shared character change tale based on a new character called Grendel.

I have been so impressed with their writing so far, there has been some fantastic description, amazing ideas, interesting plots and everyone has included the key writerly ingredients which are included in a character change tale. I can’t wait to see their independent work next week.
