Investigators and Explorers

Today has been a great day to challenge our inquisitive minds.

After some fabulous descriptive work about Olaf yesterday, the snowman who wished to experience a hot summer day, we investigated ice. We tasted, touched and described a block of ice each and tried to stop it from melting. A further investigation led us to discover that salt will melt ice more quickly. We added colour using paint and watched it soak into the cracks in the ice – messy but great fun!

At Forest School this afternoon, the children made stick men after listening to the story. It was a cold, wet afternoon but made all the better by a hot chocolate and snack amongst the trees.

I can’t believe there is only one day left of the term. Don’t forget to bring a party lunch, wear mufti and bring some festive cheer again tomorrow! Look out for the performance video too on the children’s Team notebook.
