Year 3 – World Book Day!

How you can celebrate a very 2021 World Book Day on Thursday 4 March! | National Literacy Trust

Hooray! It’s World Book Day! One of my favourite days of the year. I love books, all things books and reading lots of books!

We had a fantastic morning meeting this morning where we all had the opportunity to share our favourite book and explain why we liked it. Mrs Davies, Mr Howley, Mrs Wood and I loved seeing your creative masks too! The most amazing part was that everyone shared a different book! We talked about how sharing books can expand our knowledge and we can find recommendations from others about books that we would like to read. We’ve now got a whole new library of recommendations and books to enjoy.

Today’s English task is to write a book review all about our favourite book, explain why, who our favourite character is and draw a picture. Mr Howley and I cannot wait to read them and we will enjoy sharing these with each other. There will be a new display in our classroom to celebrate books and our reviews.

Your special activity today is to watch the video created by all of the teachers to work out who the Masked Reader is! We enjoyed watching this together this morning and working out who everyone is – you were already able to name most of the teachers in school!

There is a sheet to complete if you would like to, but this is an optional extra today.

There is no class reader today because we want you to read your books! Why not see if you can find a book that you haven’t read before?

Happy Reading Year 3!
