Rowling Class – A wonderful week!

Welcome Back – Jack in the Box NurseryRowling class have had a wonderful week, getting back into the swing of learning at school and have shown how resilient they are by getting straight back to work, completing some amazing work to a high standard.
We’ve enjoyed completing some shared writing this week, following on from our explanation texts about a type of machine. In maths we’ve been tackling fractions which has been challenging but rewarding to see the progress made in a short space of time and our reading lessons have been a delight, all reading together and thinking confidently and carefully about a text, using evidence in our answers. Our topics in Science and Geography continue to be Magnetism and Earthquakes and Volcanoes. We’re now experts at identifying the key parts of a volcano and our walls are full of wonderful diagrams.

This week, we have started a new class reader called ‘Varjak Paw’ by SF Said. It’s about a Mesopotamian Blue family of cats and Varjak loves hearing the tales of Jalal. Varjak is the main character and he has never left home before but we think he might be making a plan. We are learning a lot about him and it’s getting really exciting. We’re really enjoying it at the moment and everyone has had the opportunity to read. I’m really enjoying hearing everyone reading aloud again!

Key Skills is now project work and has been set already. Please complete your project work at home and upload images of your work to your Key Skills page for us to share with Mrs Fennelly, to add to the weekly sway. We enjoyed looking through this today and spotting our work in the sharing space!

It’s nice to see the sunshine back, so have a lovely weekend and Mrs Davies and I look forward to seeing you back on Monday!
