Year 6 Resistance

Year 6 have been building electrical circuits again today.  Our question to investigate was… what are the effects of changing the length of the wire in a circuit?  After investigating in groups, we came to the conclusion that the longer the wire, the dimmer the bulb or the shorter the wire, the brighter the bulb.  We then learned about resistance as a force that opposes the movement of the electricity.  Whilst this can be a disadvantage, it can also be used as a safety device in a fuse to prevent over-heating.Great predicting, investigating and evaluating skills Churchill class, well done.
