Reception – The very hungry caterpillars!

We have had lots of excitement in Reception recently. It all started last week when we received a brown box in the post that was labelled ‘URGENT! Open Immediately!’ When we looked inside we found 2 pots, with 10 tiny little caterpillars inside!

The children have loved watching these 10 little caterpillars each day wriggling around eating, and getting bigger and bigger. Then at the start of this week, we noticed the caterpillars doing some interesting acrobatics on the top of the pot! They were in fact putting themselves into their chrysalis, and are now hanging upside down in the pots.

We can’t wait to see what happens next, and are waiting patiently, and quietly, with our magnifying glasses to take a closer look!
