Mandela – Measuring our heart beats!
In Science this week, we investigated what happens to our heart when we exercise, how our body responds and how to locate our own pulse. We decided to carry out an investigation to explore how our pulse rate changes when we exercise and after we exercise.
First, we measured our resting pulse rate and then we started exercising! After a good work out, we measured our pulse again immediately following exercise, then 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes and 20 minutes after exercise. We discussed and analysed our findings to consider why our pulses change and why they measure at different rates for each person. Finally, we used our collected data to plot a line graph, this really helped us to see clearly how our pulse rate changes.
Well done Mandela Class!
