Exploring ‘The Tempest’ in Mozart

I just wanted to start by saying Happy New Year – I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and the children all enjoyed their much deserved break! They have certainly made a fantastic start to the spring term this week.

Although I have, unfortunately, not been in school this week, I have heard some very positive feedback from the teachers and teaching assistants who have been covering me. The children have enjoyed starting new topics in many subjects, but in particular, they have loved being introduced to ‘The Tempest’, a Shakespeare play which we are going to be exploring in more detail over the next few weeks!

The children have had great fun participating in drama activities related to the play, such as creating freeze frames, and have also learnt about the main characters in more detail. Over the next few weeks, they will be doing some more drama, exploring the island setting further, and eventually producing some writing, some of which will then be put on display!

I can’t wait to see the amazing work that they produce, and I am also looking forward to seeing all of the general progress the children make in Mozart class this term.

Have a lovely weekend (and definitely wrap up warm)!

Miss Robson
